A Dermatologist is a physician concerned with all aspects of disease of the skin and its attachments (hair and nails) and mucous membranes (inside the mouth). The variety of diseases dealt with is extremely large and includes diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, moles, allergic conditions of the skin, psoriasis, infections, hair and nail problems, and response of the skin to irritants. The Dermatologist may deal with things as common as warts and acne or as unusual as manifestations in the skin of hard to diagnose systemic disease.
